Inspirational Books

Links to all books are found at the end of the post.

Sometimes, when it comes to my career, I wonder if this is all there is. I started reading books that were motivational and inspiring. A few of my favorites are:
1. Live the Life You Love by Barbara Sher
2. Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn
In her book, Barbara Sher talks about the Idea Party. It's a great idea.

Tips on achieving success and a fast read: Success One Day at a Time by John C. Maxwell.
"You will be as small as your controlling desire, as great as your dominant aspiration." - James Allen

http://www.republicoftea.com/ - Imagine having a job traveling all over the world seeking out the best tea leaves. The founders of The Republic of Tea do just that. They've also written several books that are, in my opinion, very inspiring and enlightening. My two favorites are:
1. dragon spirit - How to Self-Market Your Dream

2. tiger heart, tiger mind - How to Empower Your Dream

Try them with a nice cup of hot tea from exotic places.

Here are three books I thoroughly enjoyed about others who either purposely set out to change their lives, overcame their fear and reached their dream and those that accidentally fell into it.

1. What Should I do with My Life? by Po Bronson (55 inspiring true stories)
2. Queen of the Road by Doreen Orion (a couple gives up "almost" everything and hits the road for one year)
3. Chicken Soup for the Soul Living Your Dreams by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen (many stories of
how others accomplished their dream paired with principles and techniques to help you realize yours)

Inspirational Quotes

As one who was laid off due to this scary economy I find it helps to read all things inspirational. Here is a list of quotes that make me feel better, stronger and more hopeful.

Face adversity promptly and without flinching, and you will reduce the impact. - Winston Churchill

Changing Your Life - Part III

What is your action plan?

“A goal is created three times. First as a mental picture. Second, when written down to add clarity and dimension. And third, when you take action towards its achievement.” Gary Ryan Blair

One of my former bosses, very successful I might add, had a phrase posted in his office: GOBOSH - Go Big or Stay Home. When I wrote my goals I put down everything I wanted to try and I didn't forget to think big. I've yet to get through that list but without making excuses, it's so long it will always be a work in progress.
